Palladium in biological media: Can the synthetic chemist's most versatile transition metal become a powerful biological tool?

نویسندگان

چکیده

Palladium catalysed reactions are ubiquitous in synthetic organic chemistry both solvents and aqueous buffers. The broad reactivity of palladium catalysis has drawn interest as a means to conduct orthogonal transformations biological settings. Successful examples have been shown for protein modification, vivo drug decaging palladium-protein biohybrid catalysts selective catalysis. Biological media represents challenging environment due the presence multitude chelators, catalyst poisons requirement milder reaction conditions e.g. lower temperatures. This review looks identify successful palladium-catalysed proteins or cells analyse solutions help overcome challenges working systems.

Biological metal ligand systems

There are some discrepancies between the behaviours of the metal-ligand biosystems and the lifeless systems. The participation of macromolecular ligands might be considered as the most important origin of these discrepancies. The amphivalency, flexibility, adaptation to coordination configurations and the availability of the metal-binding sites determine the characteristics of the metal(1igand)...
